The Racing Events of 2022, Explained…

The races are officially on and if you just don’t understand the fascinator, we’re here to help. Packed with hot tips on all the major events, our guide will make sure you’re this season’s front-runner. From colour-drenched looks to standout jewellery and statement hair accessories, the odds are on for our chic occasion edits. But first, which racing events do we have in our diary?

The Cheltenham Festival

March 15-18

This four-day event promises much more than just racing. For 2022, The Cheltenham Festival has launched The Park – a space for live entertainment, showcasing new bars and boasting exclusive 90 minute DJ sets. If you’re looking for a buzzy atmosphere on race day, Chltenham is the one for you. This year they've recruited their first ever fashion ambassador, model Frankie Herbert. Granddaughter of the Queen's racing manager Lord Porchester, we can’t wait to see how she mixes her equine heritage with her signature bold style. We’re expecting a lot of bright colour and a modern take on traditional checks.

Grand National

April 8-10

For the Grand National, it’s all about Ladies Day, back for 2022 with a boujee new identity… #FabulousFriday. As part of the refresh, they’ll be providing fashionable Friday updates right up until the main event on April 9th. This is racing calendar’s major peacock moment so make it count. Category is: go big or go home, it’s all about being bold in your choices, showing off your unique style code and accessorising every look with attitude. Like us, Aintree’s Ladies Day lives by the Coco Chanel quote; “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman”. This year, RI is serving feminine chic with a powerful edge – are you in?

Royal Ascot

June 14-18

Polish your tiaras for the royal event of the year! On day one, our very own Queen kicks off proceedings leading a major procession with the rest of her famous fam, ahead of an afternoon of world-class racing. It may be considered the most traditional of the events, but it’s also the busiest, ideal if you’re a ‘see and be seen’ events goer. Heritage or not, Royal Ascot charges ahead in the fashion stakes. In true Ascot style, this year is all about timeless with a twist, think sharp tailoring and statement sleeves for women and unexpected colours and mixed textures for men.
